I have been interested in Thailand for two years since I had a lecture on the science of religion, where the teacher told us about Thai ghost. Here I will introduce Thai food, language and movies.
Thailand is one of the countries in South Asia. It is surrounded by Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia and Laos. Thailand's population is about 60 million and is as much as the half of Japan. Many Chinese live there. Thailand is famous for temples, traffic jams and food stands. I think that Thailand has two sides. One is respect for tradition; the other is development.
In Thailand there are many stands that sell food, for example "Ganepet." It is red carry with rice in Thailand. Thai food generally tastes sweet, hot and sour. I ate "Kappaebisen" made in Thailand. It is snack which tastes like shrimp and has been invented in Japan. And recently it is produced in Thailand, too. Thai's Kappaebisen tastes differently from Japanese. It tastes sour and really truly like shrimp.
Thai language is different from Japanese or English. Thai letters look like traces of snakes. There are forty-four letters. Hello is said "sawadii kha" My best expression is "maypenray" which means "You're welcome" or "don't mind." I think that the expression stands for Thai warmth.

I have watched many Thai movies. For example, Nangnak, Phi Chong Ae, Phi San Bat, Sixty Nine, The Letter, Februrary, Rain and Attack Number Half. Nangnak, Phi Chong Ae and Phi San Bat are ghost stories. "Phi" in Thai means ghost. The Letter and Februrary are love stories. I think Thai love story movies are more interesting than Koreans which are recently popular in Japan. Attack Number Half is a male homosexual volleyball story. In Thailand there appears to be many male homosexuals, because it is said that a man must really be manly.
