ガボン共和国で熱帯林の生物多様性保全に関するプロジェクトに参画し、2015年に京都大学で博士号を取得したAkomo-Okoue氏らと協力して、哺乳類の糞試料を収集して、そこから動物のDNAを抽出して、遺伝解析を行なってきました。
また、複数種が同一地域に生息するダイカー亜科に着目して分析を行ない、種ごとに利用しやすい植生が違うことや、新たな遺伝マーカーを開発し、体サイズにより遺伝的交流を妨げる要因が異なることを明らかにしました。
